The connection between Byron Smugglers and the KLIM Foundation is deeply personal. Founders Michael and Toryhave shared a friendship spanning more than 20 years, forged through both professional collaboration and life's many challenges.
Over the years, they have worked together motivating corporate executives, helping individuals unlock their potential and push beyond perceived limitations. Along the way, both have experienced significant personal and professional setbacks. Through these experiences, they discovered a common truth: health is the foundation upon which everything else is built.
Their friendship was cemented early through one of Australia's toughest endurance events the Mark Webber Challenge. Covering more than 500 kilometres over five days, the event tested every participant physically and mentally through kayaking, running, mountain biking, swimming, abseiling, and sleeping and recovering in the great outdoors.
The challenge demanded resilience, adaptability, teamwork, and a willingness to embrace discomfort. It was an experience that shaped both Michael and Tory and reinforced a mindset they still carry today that growth often lies on the other side of adversity.
Physical discomfort is something they have both learned to respect, embrace, and even enjoy. It is also one of the many reasons why the values of the KLIM Foundation and Byron Smugglers align so naturally.
The KLIM Foundation exists to support Australians living with CIDP (Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy), championing awareness, advocacy, support, and hope for those navigating this challenging condition. Their mission is simple yet powerful: Championing Life.
At Byron Smugglers, our head of sales exc. Bert, developed amission that is as equally purposeful: Swimwear with Purpose. His concept was that he believed every product can tell a story and every purchase can contribute to something meaningful and this is now our aim.
So, together we share a vision of creating greater awareness, inspiring resilience, and supporting Australians facing significant health challenges.
